Recently, I have upgraded my Two Tree Bluer to a dual z-axis system to (hopefully) get a better print result. It is a fun upgrade with a relatively low cost. I will share my experience here and hope that it might help you if you have any hesitations or questions.

STL and other mechanical parts

Two Trees Bluer and Ender 3 have a similar architecture, so we can use the modification for Ender 3 in this case. I choose this (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3440272) as it only required 4 parts to print which save me some time and also provided a list of mechanical parts I need to purchase separately so that I won’t have to guess what is needed.

However, the list in the description is outdated. so here is my suggested material list for printed L mount version.

3D printed parts

  • 2 x Bearing Mount (Bearing-Mount.stl)
  • 1 x L Profile Axis Mount (L-Profile-AxisMount-Printable.stl)
  • 1 x L Profile Spindle Mount (L-Profile-SpindleMount-Printable.stl)

Misc

  • 1x 400mm Threaded Rod (8mm diameter)
  • 1x 8mm Nut for Threaded Rod
  • 2x 8mm Pillow Block Bearing

Buy from Amazon / Taobao (絲杆 400mm 臥式套件)

  • 2x GT2 Timing Pulley 40 teeths
